Welcome Back to Crossroads Elementary
Melisa Rivera has worked for Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) for 20 years and brings a wealth of experience in helping our youngest students succeed. She is excited about the two distinct programs at Crossroads where she can use her passion in science and Montessori programming. Ms. Rivera most recently served as principal for Cherokee Heights Montessori where she transformed the community school into a destination for strong Montessori programming. As a bilingual educator and Montessori certified teacher, she values the importance of encouraging students to ask questions and expand their natural curiosity.
Ms. Rivera looks forward to returning to Crossroads where she previously served as an early childhood Montessori teacher and assistant principal early in her SPPS career.
Ms. Rivera has excellent academic qualifications with a Bachelor of Arts degree in literature from Metro State University, a Master of Arts degree in education, curriculum and instruction from Tennessee State University and a Master of Arts degree in gifted and talented education from St. Thomas University.
