American Studies 7/AVID 7
I spent my elementary and secondary years of school in public schools north of Chicago and near the Wisconsin border in Waukegan, Illinois. Following high school I attended Macalester College here in Saint Paul, where I majored in history with core concentrations in East Asian philosophy and U.S. literature. After licensing as a teacher in 1980 I earned my master’s degree at the University of Saint Thomas.
I am currently teaching seventh grade American Studies and AVID Elective 7. I do my best to make my young historians better readers, writers, and researchers.
I also teach 5/10 classes to help students research, plan, and present their National History Day projects during Quarters 2 and 3. Students interested in this opportunity should sign-up for Quarter Two National History Day Help.
