Ms. Warde

Bonjour!  My name is Katherine Warde, and I am the full-time librarian for LNFI, though I split my time between Upper and Lower Campus.  I have my Master's in Elementary Education (from St. Catherine University) with a pre-primary focus, and am certified preK through 6th grade.  I am also currently enrolled at St. Catherine University pursuing my Master's of Library and Information Science, and am co-chair of the St. Kate's chapter of the American Library Association (ALA).  In addition, I co-own a young adult and children's bookstore, am the voting chair for the Minnesota Youth Reading Awards, and have served on the committee for the Minnesota Book Awards for Young People's Literature.  I am a member of ALA and ALSC (American Library Service for Children).  Children's books and literacy are my passion, and I love sharing these with the students at LNFI!

My undergrad was at Macalester College, where I majored in Linguistics and minored in French and English.  I am a native English speaker, but have spent some of my childhood and teen years living and going to school in France (Caen, Besançon, and Paris), where I learned to speak French.

I worked in St. Paul Public Schools as a classroom teacher for 6 years before starting as the librarian at LNFI in the 14-15 school year.  I am glad to be back for the 15-16 school year!
