Governor Walz announced new guidelines that will allow elementary schools to return to full-time in-person learning. SPPS is planning to start bringing students back for full-time in-person learning on Monday, February 1, starting with our youngest learners.
The SPPS Virtual Learning School is an option for PreK-12 students who prefer to remain in 100% distance learning for the entire 2020-21 school year.
SPPS continually monitors forecasts from the National Weather Service in order to make the best decision for students, staff and families. SPPS will close all district buildings and will cancel schools and programs due to temperature, wind chill, snow, ice, hazardous roads or other inclement weather conditions.
At SPPS, our mission is to inspire students to think critically, pursue their dreams and change the world.
Dr. Joe Gothard is Superintendent of SPPS, which serves approximately 37,000 PreK-12 students and employs more than 5,000 full-time staff. Learn more about Dr. Gothard.
