Welcome to Third Grade!

My name is Jessica Grodin and I am so excited to be teaching third grade at Crossroads this year. This is my fourth year teaching at Crossroads, and I love being part of such a caring community.

About Me

I feel very priveledged to be teaching in Saint Paul, as I am a proud graduate of St. Paul Public schools. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Hamline University. Outside of school I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors and travel. My most favorite time is spent with my husband, Seth, and our daughter, Zoe.

Library Day

  • Our Library day is Monday. Please make sure your child returns their book each week so they can check out a new one to read. We recommend keeping books in backpacks when they are not being read at home.

I Zone

  • We will visit the I Zone each Thursday morning to explore, experiment and use scientific thinking. In the I Zone students ask questions and seek answers, then take time to reflect on their observations and experiences. In third grade we get to move to the more advanced side of the I Zone, and will express our scientific thinking in science notebooks. This year in the I Zone we will focus on different themes, beginning with Water. Ask your child to share with you what they learned each week!
