Welcome to K/ 1 in Virtual Learning

My Name is Shelia Kanniainen,

Our virtual classroom will be a K/1 split.  Each day students will have a combination  of  synchronous meetings and individual independent lessons on Seesaw.  The best way for you to ask a questuion or send me information is though the parent message on Seesaw. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Education degree from the University of Wisconsin. I have taught grades1,2,4,and K-6 Science .I especially love learning from my students and helping them to learn.  I Like to find out where students are in their learning adventure and help them learn more each day. 

I went to St. Paul Public Schools and I know your child can go anywhere they want to from here.  Students need to follow their dreams and work hard.  They will need our help and they will succeed.  I know these are times like no other and we can learn and grow in new ways.

 I like to learn something every day  and be active, outside if possible. Not a year for races but i did complete 2 virtual races last fall. I was swimming 3 times a week until the pool was closed.  Now I mainly take laong walks.

I have 3 grown children plus 2 spouses (Kevin, Erik,+ Katie,  and Erin+ Joel) and  two  grandsons Ezra  and Finn. I love to spend time with my family.  We enjoy cooking together, hiking, and lately spending time apart. I am interested in Sustainability and using our resources wisely. I want all of our children to have a happy safe childhood and a life where they believe their dreams can come true and they work until they do
