Degrees and Certifications:
BS Chemistry and Life Sciences United States Military Academy MA Education University of Minnesota
My name is Brian Hare and I am one of the 8th grade science teachers at Capitol Hill. This is my 6th year teaching at Capitol Hill.
As each year passes I become more excited to get back into the classroom and discovering new and interesting concepts about science. Each year is full of challenges and adventures for myself and the kids I love to teach. I look forward to meeting and working with this year's group of eighth graders as we discover new concepts about our Earth.
I bring a wealth of knowledge to the classroom as I have been in different industries prior to teaching. I was first a Captain in the United States Army. After transitioning from the Army, I had a career in manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution with both General Mills and Target. I graduated with a degree in Chemistry and Life Sciences, a minor in Environmental Engineering, and a minor in Physical Education from the United States Military Academy. I received my teaching certificate from the University of Minnesota and will complete my Masters in Education this spring from the University of Minnesota.
When I am not at school, my wife and I are typically at a sports field, rink, pool, or gymnasium coaching or watching my son, Jack, and my daughter, Piper, participate in baseball, soccer, hockey, swimming, or gymnastics. I love to grow vegetables in my garden at home, read biographies, Sci-fi, or historical books, and play hockey.
I am looking forward to an awesome year studying all about the Earth and the systems that affect it. Check out my links for helpful information.
Please keep coming back as I will add additional information as the year moves along.
