Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Denise Jameson
Hello Johnson Jaguars!
This is Mrs. Jameson’s 8th year at John A. Johnson Elementary. She loves working with the amazing staff and fabulous students and families here at JAJ!
Mrs. Jameson received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The College of St. Catherine in 1996. She then earned both her Master’s and Educational Specialist’s degrees from The University of St. Thomas. She is licensed to teach grades K-6 and also has her principal’s license for grades K-12. She has taught kindergarten, fourth, and fifth grades in North Minneapolis and on St. Paul’s Westside. She spent three years as an assistant principal in a Pre-K through 8 building in St. Paul before teaching 6th grade at JAJ in 2012. She then spent three years as the Content Coach at JAJ, 1 year as Admin Intern, and is happy to be back in her 3rd year as TOSA - PBIS Coach/Behavioral Specialist.
When not at JAJ, Mrs. Jameson loves to spend time with her family, most of whom are involved with SPPS! Her husband, Mr. Jameson, is a social studies teacher at E-Stem, St. Paul's newest middle school. Her stepdaughter, Ms. Gress, is a SLP at Capitol Hill Magnet. Mrs. Jameson also loves to read books, ride bikes, and watch movies with her youngest daughter who is eight years old. Mrs. Jameson enjoys going to MN Twins’ baseball games, watching Vikings football, knitting, reading, listening to music, and hanging out with her family and friends.
Mrs. Jameson is originally from upstate New York. She moved to Minnesota when she was 18 to go to college. She thinks Minnesota is the best place to live and has the greatest educational system. She wouldn’t want to be a teacher anywhere else!
Mrs. Jameson is so excited to be a part of SPPS and John A. Johnson Elementary! She thinks the relationship that the school and their partners develop with families is like no other. She believes it is important for students to have many different supports in order to be successful and thinks JAJ has great partners and systems in place to be sure that every student can succeed!
