My name is Stivaliss Licona-Gervich, and I am eager to meet with and get to know all of you! I have had the privilege to work and learn from leaders in dual and full immersion programs in SPPS. sharing my enthusiasm for working in an environment of respect and honesty with an emphasis in rigorous academics, and work ethic. All these while working under an equity lens in order to interrupt the practices who negatively impact our students of color, reducing predictability of who succeeds and who fails, and cultivating the unique gifts and talents of every student. My bilingualism and biculturalism influence my performance at work, home and community. It is my job to work skillfully and effectively with families, teachers, school staff, community members and outside agencies. It’s a job to which I am utterly dedicated.

Riverview families! Is your 2nd through 5th grade student interested in learning how to play the violin or cello this year? If so, they should consider joining the Harmony, a program of the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies (or, GTCYS!). Taking place right at Riverview on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays before school, Harmony provides students not only with small and large group instruction, but also with instruments, performance opportunities, and enrichment activities. After 5th grade, students have the opportunity to join a GTCYS orchestra and continue studying music with our program all the way through high school!
