Welcome back middle school students and families!
Our winter program will begin on February 8thWinter Program Registration FORM LINK
Winter Class DescriptionsFlipside would like to new and returning youth and are excited to continue offering our program through distance learning! This free program strives to provide engaging enrichment opportunities and academic support for middle school students. Flipside is funded through the 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant and provide programming at the following schools:
American Indian Murray Middle
Farnsworth Upper Ramsey Middle
Humboldt /OWL Washington TechnologyDue to the district being in distance learning this Fall, we have changed our model to ensure we can still serve as many young people as possible. During distance learning, American Indian Magnet and Farnsworth Upper will serve students in grades 5-8. All other schools will serve students in grades 6-8.
Free Virtual Classes: The entire fall session of Flipside will be done virtually, even if the district enters into a hybrid model. We will offer some programs that all students attending the schools listed above may attend, as well as programs that are specific to the school you attend. For example, there will be an art class that any student from our middle schools can attend, but at Humboldt, the Karen Club and Karen tutoring will only be open to Humboldt/OWL students.
Watch your email and Schoology closely for upcoming registration for our programs.
Free Activity Kits: Many of our classes require materials to complete the work or projects. Any materials needed will be delivered to students prior to the start of class. Youth participating in programs will also receive a family activity kit once a month to engage the whole family in fun activities!
Flipside Program Advisory: We would love to get input from both youth and adults about how our program can improve or best serve your family. Please email your schools Coordinator or visit us during our office hours on Google Meets to learn more about this opportunity.
