Mr. Lo graduated from Macalester College in 1992 with a B.A. in chemistry. He received his Master of Education in Science degree from the University of Minnesota and Ed. S. in Administration from the University of St. Thomas. He has been teaching at Como Park Sr. High School since 1998.
Mr. Lo believes that students are spontaneous and active learners. He wants to facilitate a learning environment where students are actively involved in their learning through physical experiences, social interactions and reflections. He wants to provide a supportive, compassionate and challenging learning experiences for students.
For 2018-19, Mr. Lo teaches 2 sections of Physical Science and 2 sections of General Chemistry.
Physical Science is a year-long laboratory course that covers basic high school physics and chemistry concepts and the nature of science and engineering.
Chemistry is a year-long laboratory course that focuses on matter and its interactions.
Physics is a year-long laboratory course that focuses on forms of energy and their interactions. It investigates motion, forces, conservation of energy, momentum, heat, waves, light, magnetism and electricity. Critical thinking, mathematical problem solving, group projects and laboratory work are integral parts of this course.
