Degrees and Certifications:
I have been teaching in St. Paul Public Schools for 24 years. I have an undergraduate degree in English from the University of Minnesota, and a Master's degree in Elementary Education from University of Wisconsin, River Falls. I am licensed to teach 1st-6th grades. I taught 3rd grade for 20 years. Before that, I taught 1st and 2nd grades. I am so excited to work with 2nd graders this year and can't wait to learn from them!
My husband and I have two children and our family lives in Eagan. My daughter is starting her second year at the University of Minnesota and my son is in 12th grade. We enjoy traveling and camping together, going to Minnesota team sporting events, and having family "movie nights". I have one athlete and one artist, so we love going to lacrosse and basketball games, as well as attending performances and art shows that our children are involved in. I love to read and write. During the summer, I try to read as much as I can!
There are so many things I love about working at Chelsea Heights. I think the families here are really supportive of their children and work hard to be involved in many different ways. The students here are kind, helpful and respectful of each other. The staff work well together and try to create an atmosphere that is engaging and fun for all learners. It is a wonderful place to work and learn!
