Hello! My name is Michelle Ross and I have been teaching 6th Grade Science at Murray Middle School since 2014... and I am loving it!
I finished up my Masters of Arts in Teaching degree at Hamline University in 2017, which is where I also earned my teaching license. Teaching is my second career, I first earned my undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota. I worked in the field of engineering for about 5 years before I decided that I would rather be working with kids and my love of science made my choice of subjects easy! I know I made a good choice :-)
When I am not working, I love to spend time with my family, collect and listen to vinyl records and go to concerts, take my dog for walks, and go hiking and camping whenever I get a chance. A few of my favorite adventures is when I hiked across the Grand Canyon from the north rim to the south rim, stopping at the bottom to camp for 2 nights to enjoy the environment and rest our feet; an annual summer backpacking trip on the Superior Hiking Trail; and a road trip to go see the total solar eclipse - so amazing!
I am looking forward to having another great year here at Murray!
