Welcome to my classroom page! I am excited to be teaching our wonderful 6th graders Physical Science at Murray this year. I hope that I fulfill all of your expectations as an engaging, caring, and dedicated teacher.
I am in my 13th year of teaching and my 10th year at Murray Middle School. Before I became a teacher, I received a Master's degree in Horticultural Science from the University of Minnesota and did research on grapes and apple trees. This experience gave me the chance to do research, work with amazing scientists (like the people who brought us Honeycrisp apples!) and teach labs to undergraduates. This was where I found my passion for teaching. I decided to focus on middle school students and went to Hamline University to earn my teaching license. I love the enthusiasm and creativity these students bring to the classroom.
My husband of 20 years is the principal at Richfield Middle School. We have three children who are 11, 9, and 7. Needless to say, they keep us very busy! When I am not playing with my kids, I also like to garden, cook great meals for my family and friends, go boating and swimming in the summer and downhill skiing in the winter.
If at anytime you have questions or concerns about your child's progress or what we are doing in class, please feel free to contact me. Email is the best way to reach me. Otherwise, you can call me at school and leave a message with the best time to call you back.
