Linda Bassat began teaching at Dayton's Bluff Elementary in 2000. She has a Masters of Education and Bachelors of Science from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. She has taught 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade.
She spends her summers on the lake fishing for Crappies, Blue Gill and Bass. She enjoys catching Northern Pike the best because they put up a good fight. When she's not fishing up north, she likes to sit outdoors with her 3 1/2 year old granddaughter and watch the planes go by.
She lives on the East Side of Saint Paul with her husband and four children. Two of her children are in middle school and two of them are in college. They keep her very busy with school events, homework and sports. She also has two dogs, Sparkie - a Miniture Pincher and a Duke - Pitbull Terrier.
Dayton's Bluff Elementary is very special to her for several reasons: her mother was a Title I Migrant Education Teacher at the Bluff; two of her children attended classes at the Early Childhood Family Program before working at the Bluff; and she gets to meet so many wonderful teachers, families and their children in the school and in the neighborhood.
A quote she often uses with her children at home and in school is "If you CONCIEVE, and you BELIEVE, you will ACHIEVE!"
