Ms. Parr-Smestad

I began teaching at Eastern Heights Elemenatary, Battle Creek Elemenatry, Nokomis North and South Elemenatry three years ago but have taught in the St. Paul Schools District for 33 years.  I have a Masters of Arts Degree from St. Mary's University(1997) and am a National Board Certified Teacher in Early/Middle Childhood Physical Education (2011).  I also have a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse majoring in Physical Education with minors in Adaptive Physical Education, Psychology and Coaching.  Throughout my teaching career I have taught elementary and secondary physical education, secondary science and health, and adaptive physical education.

In my spare time I enjoy exercising and all sports.  Volunteering for Habitat for Humanities while building houses has been very rewarding along with volunteering at my church.  I enjoy traveling; especially to my son/daughter's sporting events at their college. Photography, reading, sewing and crafts are all things that keep me busy when I am not teaching.

My family consists of three wonderful kids; two son's and a daughter. I also have three grandchildren!

I am a part of four schools that have wonderful students and staff to work with!
