Everyone is an Artist

  • Ms. Amanda led families in an arts integration exploration during a December Makerspace event. Families could:

    • make the longest paper chain from one piece of paper
    • explore line 
    • explore color (complimentary or analogous)

    Students also explored this lesson in art class during their regular school day.


Art
  • Visual arts are integrated throughout the day in our classrooms. Students use a variety of materials to create artwork enriching their core curriculum subjects and adding personal expression to learning. 


  • Third grade students integrate visual arts, creating multi-media self portraits accompanied by autobiographical writing.

Night Sky
  • A first/second grade classroom integrates visual arts, creating pastels of the night sky based on the book Max and the Tag-Along Moon by Floyd Cooper. They read this book together, learning new vocabulary, practicing inferring and predicting, and looking at setting, character, and plot.
