Mrs. Sara Ross
Mrs. Ross has been a teacher at EXPO since 2014. She has been working in the St. Paul School District since 2000. She began her teaching career in El Paso, Texas, where she taught for 10 years before returning to Minnesota. This year will mark Mrs. Ross' 27th year as a teacher. Throughout her career, she has taught all grades Kindergarten through 6th. Mrs. Ross earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education K-6 from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 1990. She received her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University-St. Paul in 2011. She went on to earn her K-12 Principal License in 2013, from St. Mary's University of Minnesota. Currently, she is working towards her Law Enforcement Degree from Rasmussen College. She hopes to graduate in April of 2017.
When she's not busy teaching at EXPO, Mrs. Ross enjoys a variety of hobbies and activities. She is active as a member of the Anoka Police Reserve Unit and also does security work for the City of Anoka. Mrs. Ross likes to stay in shape by lifting weights, biking, and running. She also enjoys cooking, baking, reading, and crotcheting. Most of all, Mrs. Ross enjoys spending time with her family and animals.
Mrs. Ross originally grew up in Roseville, Minnesota, but now makes her home in the Northern Suburb of Anoka. She is married and has four children. This year, her twin boys and daughter will all be in college. Mrs. Ross also has a German Shorthaired Pointer named Lily and a cat named "Six-Toes".
Mrs. Ross enjoys teaching at EXPO. She feel fortunate to work with such wonderful students and families! She is really looking forward to the 2016-2017 school year. A favorite quotes that guides her educational practice is from Martin Luther King, Jr. which states, "Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education".
