Welcome to Ms. Peterson's classroom's page.  She has been teaching since 2008.  Her first 2 1/2 years were spent at a Charter School in Golden Valley teaching Kindergarten, 2nd and 3rd grade.  Then she taught for a 1/2 year at a Charter School in Stillwater where she worked in a resource room for 5-9 grade special education.  In 2011, Ms. Peterson came to Bruce Vento as an EBD Special Education teacher working in grades K-5 for 7 years.  The last 6 years, she has been working again in the General Education classrooms. She went to 3rd grade for 1 year and now has been in 2nd grade for the last 5 years.   Ms. Peterson received her Early Childhood teaching degree from Minnesota State Mankato.  She then received a Masters in Differentiated Instruction and has licensers in EBD and LD Special Education from Concordia St. Paul. 

In Ms. Peterson's free time she enjoys being outdoors, golfing, reading and being with her husband, daughter, family, and friends.  Summer is her favorite time of year, so she can be outside and enjoy the sunlight. She loves to read mystery books as well as funny books.  She has a Children's book Melinda the One and Only that was published in Spring of 2022.  It is available on Amazon.   Ms. Peterson lives in Hugo, Mn with her husband, daughter and her chocolate lab Sam.  Her daughter just turned 3 this summer and her dog is 4 1/2 years old. 

Ms. Peterson loves working at Bruce Vento, all of the kids are so happy and eager to learn.  Every child has something to offer our world and she can't wait to help them achieve their goals.
