Hello! My name is Eric Kaluza and I am very excited to be the Physical Education teacher at Hamline Elementary. This is my 16th year teaching, 4th in the district, and I am committed to getting your child excited about physical fitness for the rest of their liives.
I graduated from Hamline University with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and a license in Health Education. I completed my Master's Degree at Hamline University in Education and also an Administrative degree two years later. I've attained a Masters in educational leadership from the University of Glasgow and am currently enrolled at Hamline University for a Doctorate in Education.
The curriculum is directly linked to the district and national standards for Physical Education which you will find below. Throughout the school year, children will be exposed to a wide variety of individual and team sports, lifetime physical activities, and cooperative games to name a few. Physical Education is for everyone, the objective for each lesson is for students to be successful in a safe and positive environment while having fun and doing their best.
I spend my time working on my house in St. Paul along with being active with the Humane Society. Reading, researching, and running are my 3 R's and truly enjoy all aspects of education. You'll see me around Hamline University after school on the track or in the library writing papers and enhancing my knowledge to benefit your child's education.
