Ms. Mai Pang Vang
Hello! Nyob zoo!
My name is Mai Pang Vang or Xib Fwb Maiv Paj and I am one of the Kindergarten Hmong Dual Language teachers. This is my 8th year teaching at Jackson Elementary in the Hmong Dual Language Program and my 9th year teaching overall.
In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, walking/jogging, and spending time with my family and friends.
I am excited about the learning that will take place this year! Please see below for resources to make your child's Kindergarten year a success. Feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great day!
*Spring break is April 1 - 5. School will be back in session on Monday, April 8.
Area of Study - Unit 5 : Helpers in our World
This Area of Study focuses on the many people who help in our world. The study builds over the weeks by starting with students’ own experiences of being a helper where they live (chores) and at school (cleaning, sharing, caring for the room). The focus then expands to the family, school and people in the community who help. Students will understand we cannot meet all of our needs alone, so we need a community of helpers to survive and thrive!
A-Z Books (more titles coming soon!)
Your child will be bringing two Hmong books home each week. I have recorded the Hmong books so your child can follow along at home.

Afton Apple Orchard - October 22, 2018
Kindergarten students went to the apple orchard on Monday, October 22, 2018. We learned about the life cycle of apple trees. We picked apples and pumpkins, went on a hayride, and tried apple cider. We had a great time!
