How to Start a Google Meet
You'll be most successful using Google Chrome as your browser. Make sure you’re logged into Google with your SPPS email address and password.
- Share the Google Meet link or Nickname along with the time you want students to join the call (in Seesaw or Schoology)
- 5 minutes prior to the time communicated with students, go to meet.google.com
- You may be asked to turn your camera and microphone on—click Allow
- Click Join or start a meeting
- Enter the Nickname that you have communicated with students
- Click Continue
- Click Join now

How to end a Google Meet call securely to ensure the call isn't used when not monitored by staff
If participants need to be removed from a call prior to the end, using the host controls in the participants list, find the participant, click on the 3 dots next to their name and click "Remove from meeting."

How to share an iPad screen to a Google Meet call:Additional tip:When facilitating a Google Meet call, it can be helpful to join from multiple devices. From one device you can see participants, raised hands, etc and from the other you can share a screen to model, whiteboard or run a presentation. -
App vs. Safari web version of Google Meet?
Students are able to join a Google Meet session using the Google Meet app on their iPad OR by going to meet.google.com using Safari on their iPad. Here is what works/doesn’t work with either of these:
