HOW TO GRADUATE FROM GORDON PARKS HIGH SCHOOL
- Earn 86 Credits (64 core credits/22 elective credits)
- Complete a high school graduation/college and career assessment (ACCUPLACER, ACT, GRAD, ASVAB)
- Pass courses with a ‘D’ grade or better and maintain 80% or better attendance.
- Students earn quarter credits as follows: One quarter (9 weeks): 1 credit, Six Weeks: .67 credit Three weeks: .33 credit
Three ways to keep track of your credits while at GPHS:
Senior Cohort: Students with 28 or less credits remaining are inducted into the Senior Cohort, and will receive amplified preparation opportunities for post-secondary study and life planning.
College & Career Planning (Naviance): Students plan their future while at GPHS by working on a college or career plan that spans at least two years beyond high school graduation.
Daily Advisory Class: Each day your Advisory teacher is available to assist you with credit questions, and direct you to our counseling department for further info if necessary.
How much time will it take to graduate? School Options:
Classes at GPHS – Up to 28 credits can be earned per year during the regular school day (Up to 7 credits per quarter) and Work Experience classes (2 credits per quarter).
Evening High School –Earn up to 3 credits every quarter in Evening High School
Summer School -Credits can be earned by attending Summer School.
