Aerospace and Engineering Courses

Courses in the Aerospace & Engineering take students from ninth grade through their senior year in a cross disciplinary format. Classes involve engineering, science, technology, mathematics, and aviation.
Johnson High School is a certified Project Lead the Way (PLTW) high School. PLTW provides a world-class curriculum to help students develop the skills necessary to succeed in our global economy. The pre-engineering classes us project-based, hands-on experiences to introduce students to the key elements and skills of engineering careers. Freshman are required to take Introduction to Engineering Design I or II and at least one more of the indicated courses. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors must select at least one of the indicated courses each year to remain eligible for the program. Students are encouraged to take additional courses from these selections if their schedule allows. For example, a ninth grader could select a third course such as Introduction to Flight Simulators. Please consult with your guidance counselor if you have any questions.
