Botany/Horticulture is a one semester course. Included in the class work is the study of the vascular plant cell, structure and function of plant anatomy/physiology, reproduction, and classification. Students will engage in an ongoing horticulture project designed to improve and beautify the environment at Johnson High School. Students will be introduced to topics of landscaping, soil maintenance, plant propagation, gardening, and hydroponics. Students will become familiar with current research in usage of plants in commercial, medical, and energy industries.
