Degrees and Certifications:
I was born in the small town of Herreid, South Dakota (population 500). The closest McDonald’s was two hours away, and we had only one channel on the television, so my life as a Physical Education teacher began at a young age trying to find things to do. After graduating from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota, I moved to the Twin Cities to start my teaching career. Along the way, I received my Health licensure from Hamline University. Now, 22 years later, I am privileged to be the Physical Education and Health teacher at both Creative Arts and Open World Learning.
In my spare time, my wife (Missy) and I enjoy following our son (Nicholas) as he discovers his various hobbies and activities. I am also indulging in my other passion: Coaching. I have coached several different sports for various schools in 20 years; I am currently part of the Highland Park Senior High teams for Football and Track & Field.
I look forward to a great year with you.
