Battle Creek offers the Minnesota Reading Corp program. There are over 700 positions available throughout Minnesota.
What do members do?
Reading Corps members receive training from well-respected literacy experts in Minnesota. They provide the knowledge and tools members need to be effective and feel confident in their ability to help children master literacy skills. Members work with kindergarten through 3rd-grade students one-on-one daily.
What is the commitment?
Minnesota Reading Corps members commit a year of their life to national service, beginning each August.
What are the benefits?
Minnesota Reading Corps members receive a year of valuable on-the-job experience, in addition to a modest living allowance and education award.
