Degrees and Certifications:
I have a bachelor degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin at River Falls with a Science Certificate in Middle School Science Instruction. I also have a Masters degree in Education from the University of St. Thomas.
I have been a teacher since 1986. I have always worked for Saint Paul Public schools. I have been a fifth grade teacher, sixth grade teacher, 4-6 science specialist, director of an outdoor education classroom, an engineering teacher for several years and now the Aerospace Coordinator for the 5-8 campus.
I was the lead coach of the Farnsworth Aerospace LEGO Robotics teams and REC (Renewable Energy Challenge) team. We are looking for coaches for our Lego Robotics, Renewable Energy and other STEAM classes..
My new office is in 1304, near the main office.
I am cooordinating all aerospace related field trips. I manage Space Camp/Aviation Challenge for 6th and 8th grade students, Washington DC for 7th grade students and Seattle Washington for 5th grade. I also organize guest speakers like Astronauts and science visitors. I am also working with fellow teachers to infuse aerospace into our daily curriculum.
This year, 2020-2021, I am also the Flight Simulator Instructor. We are upgrading our simulators to the newest software, Microsoft Flight Sims 2020.
