Kristina Rogers, School Counselor

Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Rogers

I am the school counselor for grades K-2 at Obama Elementary. I've been working at Obama since 2011. I attended Northwestern College in St. Paul for my undergraduate degree and received my master’s degree in Educational Psychology (School Counseling) from the University of Minnesota. Outside of school, I enjoy hiking, cooking and spending time with friends and family. I love being a school counselor and feel honored to work with so many wonderful scholars and families every day! My hope and dream for all of our scholars is that they continue to grow their interests and talents as joyful, enthusiastic learners.

As the school counselor at Obama, I work to support our scholars in three main areas: Social and Emotional Development, Career Exploration and Academic Achievement. I see scholars on a one-to-one basis, respond to immediate needs within our school community, support positive behavior plans and lead weekly small groups and classroom lessons focused on topics such as growth mindset, friendship skills, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, personal safety, and college and career readiness.

Please contact me with any questions or concerns, or if you feel your scholar could use additional support in any of these areas.
