What is Active Classroom?

Do you find students snoozing in their seats, eyes glazed over with attention wandering? Get 'em up and moving, with fresh oxygen waking up the brain! Active Classroom, Energizers, Brain Breaks, Brain Boosters, Active Learning, Movement Academics -- these terms are somewhat interchangeable. The basic idea is to integrates physical activity with classroom learning, either by embedding opportunities for movement into lesson plans or by taking time out for physical breaks or bursts.
Springboard to Active Schools and the Centers for Disease Control have created several resources to help bring physical activity into the classroom:
