  • Here are the math skills that students will work on in 3rd grade.

     

    Unit 1:

    Students will be able to read, write and represent whole numbers up to 100,000.

     

    Unit 2:

    Students will be able to add and subtract multi-digit whole numbers in real world contexts and number stories.  

    Math Fact Skills:

    *review multiplying and dividing by 2 and 10

    *learn multiplying and dividing by 1

     

    Unit 4:

    Students will be able to solve multiplication and division problems.

    Math Fact Skills:

    *multiplying by 0

     

    Unit 5: 

    Students will be able to read, write, and represent whole numbers up to 100,000.

    Math Fact Skills:

    *multiplying and dividing by 3

     

    Unit 6:

    Students will be able to solve geometry math problems involving perimeter. 

    Math Fact Skills:

    *multiplying and dividing by 4

     

    Unit 7:

    Students will be able to describe and create input and output patterns that involve addition, subtraction, and multiplication.

    Math Fact Skills:

    *multiplying and dividing by 6

     

    Unit 8:

    Students will be able to: read and write fractions with words and symbols, show parts of whole and a set, and find points and distances on number lines.

    Unit 9:

    Students will be able to solve word problems using multiplication and division.

    Math Fact Skills:
