OWL Students Promote College Access in March to the Post Office

Students from the Open World Learning (OWL) Community School participated in a national effort as they marched to the local post office in December. The 25 seniors dropped their college applications in the mail while being cheered on by fellow students, teachers, family members, and community leaders. The annual ritual promotes the ideal of college access for all and helps foster a college-going culture in participating schools. Many of the students who marched are the first in their families to apply to college, and for some, English is a second language. January is Early College Month in SPPS.
