    Happy New Year!

Today we hosted our annual winter choir concert at our Friday gathering!  Congratulations to each of our choirs from both campuses on a wonderful winter showcase.  So many great songs, hard to choose a favorite.  Bravo to Ms. Kroetsch and all of our staff who assisted in coordinating today’s event.

Recruitment season is in full swing.  Last Saturday we participated in the annual SPPS School Choice Fair at Washington High School.  This event supported prospective PreK and Kindergarten families seeking a program to match their child’s needs.  Thank you to all of our volunteers who joined us in connecting with St. Paul families.

In addition, we have many prospective LMAP families participating in tours and shadowing experiences at both campuses.  We will host two open houses later this month targeting PreK, Kindergarten and sixth grade families.  Tuesday, January 24 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the lower campus and Thursday, January 26 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the upper campus.  If you are interested in volunteering to speak to prospective parents at one of our open house events’, please contact Emily Bugg at the lower campus at (651) 293-6606 or Robin Trierweiler at the upper campus at (651) 293-8690.

Many families have asked about our next steps in gaining approval for our LMAP facility updates.  We are waiting to hear confirmation on the date and time for the Board of Zoning Appeals hearing.  Once we have confirmation we will notify families promptly.  We thank all of our LMAP families and friends who have joined the growing coalition of support led by Advocates for LMAP.

Lastly, next week we showcase our Taiko Drumming Residency featuring third graders from the lower campus.  The upper campus performance will be at 10:30 a.m. in the gymnasium and the lower campus performance will take place at 3:15 p.m. in the cafeteria.

We look forward to connecting with you at one of our upcoming events!

From the Principal

  • It is an honor to become a member of this outstanding school community. Linwood Monroe Arts Plus (LMAP) celebrates a rich history of arts-infused education for all learners.

As a long-time educator I have extensive experience in leading schools that embrace the arts. This experience has driven my belief in the power of the arts to transform educational outcomes for all students.

Most recently, I have served as principal of Crosswinds East Metro Arts and Science School in the East Metro Integration District. I have also served as principal of Brooklyn Center Junior/Senior High School, where I was a part of a leadership team that created an arts magnet program. This program twice won Magnet School of Excellence Awards from Magnet Schools of America.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts from St. Olaf College, a Master of Arts from Saint Mary’s University, and an Education Specialist degree and licensure from the University of Saint Thomas. I expect to complete the dissertation for a Doctor of Education degree at St. Cloud State University this autumn.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife Katherine and our two daughters, competing in events and races such as marathons and triathlons, and listening to live music.

I look forward to serving the LMAP school community as your new principal.
