It is hard to believe that we have completed the 2016-2017 school year.  I am so proud of our students for all of the academic, social and emotional growth they have achieved during this school year.  I want to also offer a heartfelt good-bye to all LMAP eighth graders as you are moving on to high school.  We will miss your brilliance and positive energy that you graciously shared throughout your time at LMAP.

On behalf of the LMAP staff, it has been a joy to work with LMAP families throughout the school year.  Thank you for the continued support of our staff and facilities throughout the school year.

In addition, we strongly encourage families to connect your student(s) to summer enrichment opportunities.  Within the district we offer several S-Term or summer term programs.  The following session dates identify the window for both summer sessions.  To register or learn more about the S-Term program offerings please visit s-term.spps.org.

    Summer Term Dates 2017

    Session 1: June 19 – July 13 (No school Tuesday, July 4)

    Session 2: July 17 – August 10

CDF Freedom Schools: July 17 - August 25

Construction at both campuses will begin immediately on Wednesday June, 14.  Please be aware that the main offices at both campuses will be temporarily moved to the district administration building.  All of our phone lines will be transferred to our new locations.  We are expected to be able to return to both campuses in late August.  All open house and back to school events will remain as scheduled.

Lastly, we hope that everyone has a safe and relaxing summer break!  We look forward to welcoming families back in late August with exciting facility updates at both campuses.

From the Principal

  • It is an honor to become a member of this outstanding school community. Linwood Monroe Arts Plus (LMAP) celebrates a rich history of arts-infused education for all learners.

As a long-time educator I have extensive experience in leading schools that embrace the arts. This experience has driven my belief in the power of the arts to transform educational outcomes for all students.

Most recently, I have served as principal of Crosswinds East Metro Arts and Science School in the East Metro Integration District. I have also served as principal of Brooklyn Center Junior/Senior High School, where I was a part of a leadership team that created an arts magnet program. This program twice won Magnet School of Excellence Awards from Magnet Schools of America.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts from St. Olaf College, a Master of Arts from Saint Mary’s University, and an Education Specialist degree and licensure from the University of Saint Thomas. I expect to complete the dissertation for a Doctor of Education degree at St. Cloud State University this autumn.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife Katherine and our two daughters, competing in events and races such as marathons and triathlons, and listening to live music.

I look forward to serving the LMAP school community as your new principal.
