Ms. Seidel, Pre-K-5 Science Teacher
My name is Ms. Seidel and I am the Pre-K-5 Science teacher at Frost Lake Elementary! This is my 13th year in SPPS and my 2nd year teaching Science at Frost Lake. Before I came to Frost, I taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades at an International Baccalaureate school, and I love incorporating inquiry-based learning into my classroom.
Outside of school I love spending time outdoors, especially camping and hiking through nature. I enjoy cooking, gardening, and having movie nights with my family. I have lived in the Twin Cities for 18 years, and it has been a wonderful place to explore!
Teaching at Frost Lake has given me the opportunity to broaden my teaching, and implement creative ways to learn science. I truly love the students and staff, and feel grateful to work at such a forward-thinking and tech-saavy school. I am really looking forward to getting to know all of my students and their families this year. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me-I would love to connect!
"Education either functions as an instrument which is used to facilitate integration of the younger generation into the logic of the present system and bring about conformity, or it becomes the practice of freedom-the means by which men and women deal critically and creatively with reality and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world." -Paulo Freire
