Alternative Education Programs
Gateway to College
Gateway to College is a collaborative program between SPPS and Saint Paul College to help students who have interrupted their high school experience, but still want to attend college in the future. Students generally take some high school credit recovery and some college credits during the same session.
SPPS Summer Term (S-Term), is the perfect antidote to summer boredom. Programs, offered in two sessions, vary based on grade level and skill level. Students can strengthen basic skills (grades K-7), get an early start on high school (grade 8), or recover credits needed to graduate (grades 9-12). Students in grades K-8 can attend S-Term 1, S-Term 2, both S-Terms, OR CDF Freedom Schools – known nationwide as a model of what summer education can be.
Freedom School Express
Freedom Schools Express (FSX) is an after-school leadership development program for students in grades K-8. Based on the successful Children's Defense Fund (CDF) Freedom Schools summer program, FSX focuses on the contributions of people of color and American Indians. Lessons provide a cultural perspective through social studies, history, art and much more.
Evening High School

Extended Day for Learning
