Schoology & Seesaw Overview & Resources
Saint Paul Public Schools uses Schoology and Seesaw as learning management systems (LMS) and digital portfolios. Classes and accounts are created automatically by the district for teachers and students. These tools help teachers, students and families organize and share information about instruction and learning while encouraging efficent and effective use of iPads. Grade Learning Management System PreK - 2nd Grade Seesaw 3rd - 5th Grade Schoology 6th - 12th Grade Schoology
Saint Paul Public Schools has purchased Seesaw licenses for students in grades PreK-2. All PreK-2 teachers and their rosters have been uploaded by Seesaw. Sites do not need to do this.
The focus for grades 3-5 is Schoology. Please do not add students or teachers in grades 3-5. Specialists, please do not add classes for students in grades 3-5. Use Schoology for these grades.
Paraprofessionals access Seesaw by downloading the free app. At this time, please do not add EAs/TAs as co-teachers for classes.
All secondary teachers are using Schoology Gradebook for all graded assignments to help families monitor and support student work. Teachers continue to develop skills to utilize the features available in Schoology in order to offer a blended learning experience.
Schoology use in elementary is optional for 2018-19 for grades 3-5 (Grades PreK-2 can use SeeSaw). Schoology is recommended as a way to share and collect assignments with students, give student assessments, collect student work and communicate with families.
All schools use Schoology to support staff by providing building level professional development, school-wide communication and staff collaboration.
