School Support GroupSupport group is a network of peer support for LGBTQIA+ youth facilitated by a social worker or counselor at a school. Groups can be open or closed. Youth have the ability to provide and receive advice from their peers or just socialize among a shared-interest group. If you are interested in joining one, please reach out to a school counselor at your school. If your school does not currently have a support group, we can help you get one started!
Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA)GSA is an extracurricular club for students to build support systems, socialize with other youth, organize educational programs to raise awareness, and promote inclusive school environments. Want to get involved in the GSA at your school? Click here for the list of GSAs and reach out to the main contact at your site. If your school doesn't have a GSA, contact us or talk to your school counselor to find out more about getting one started at your school!
GSA Advisory CouncilAlthough each school has its unique successes and challenges around creating safe space for LGBTQIA+ and Allied students, its certain that they can all do better with one another's support. The Council provides a space for 2-3 representatives from each high school to share their sites' unique needs and to strategize effective solutions. The council meets for two hours, twice a month. If youth are interested in becoming an Ambassador on the GSA Advisory Council, they should apply HERE.
