    SPPS Support Group Leaders and GSA Advisors have access to additional resources: Schoology group, Google Drive resources, and targeted professional development. Please contact us if you are interested in starting/leading a support group and/or GSA at your site. 
    Professional Development
    We have several trainings available for staff, but we are also open to working with individual staff, departments, and/or school sites to provide tailored trainings, coaching and consulting, and other forms of support.

    LGBTQ+ Essentials
    Audience: All Staff
    Content: Introduction to gender and sexuality concepts, basic terminology, and overview of laws and policies. 
    Gender Inclusion in K-12
    Audience: EA, TA, & Teachers
    Content: Effects of gender-bias on all learners, Gender Inclusion Policy, and practicing tools of support.
    Safe Space
    Audience: All Staff 
    Content: Review of issues and resources regarding creating gender-inclusive spaces. FULLY ON-LINE TRAINING.
    Beyond Courage
    Audience: Principals and School Leaders
    Content: Effects of gender-bias on all learners, implementation of Gender Inclusion Policy, connections to implementation of Teacher Development and Evaluation (TD&E), and tools of support. 
    Supporting Healthy Relationships: Recognizing and Interrupting Sexual and Dating Violence
    Audience: All Staff
    Content: Dynamics of relationship violence among youth attending to the impact of marginalization due to race, gender, and sexual orientation; how to model consent and teach healthy relationship behaviors; how to respond to student disclosures; relevant community resources for student referrals; and, self-care and sustainability for you! Substitutes are available for teachers who participate in this six hour professional development.

    Out for Equity conducted Best Practice research thanks to the generous contribution of the Kevin J. Mossier Foundation. Now, with the 2013 release of the Safe Schools Manual, you are able to have our updated, comprehensive resource at your fingertips! In addition to our Best Practice findings, the manual includes:

    • Tips for starting and development Gender and Sexuality Alliances
