    Greetings, happy 2018!

It was so great to welcome LMAP families back from winter break this week. At LMAP, we are excited for January as we have many events happening this month. See the list below.

    • Winter Choir Concert: Thursday, January 11 @ 6:30pm, Friday, January 12 @ 10:30am

    • Lion King Musical: Friday, January 19 @ 10:30am and 2:30pm

    • Family Gym Night: Wednesday, January 10 @ 6:00pm

    • Prospective LMAP Families Open House Events: Tuesday, 1/23 @ Upper & Thursday, 1/25 @ Lower; both events begin at 5:30pm

    • LMAP PTA Regular Meeting: Tuesday, January 9 @6:30pm at Upper Campus

    • LMAP PTA Special Meeting (Playground Planning): Tuesday, January 16 @6:30pm at Lower Campus

In addition to the events above, we have several field trips happening across the grades. Look for that communication in backpacks from grade-level homeroom teachers.

This coming Monday fourth grade students begin the 4th grade opera arts residency. This afternoon they were able to view last year’s production to activate the creative energy for this year’s project. Fourth grade teachers will be communicating to families the various ways to get involved in volunteering to complete the variety of tasks associated with launching the performance.

Lastly, on behalf of the LMAP staff, we thank you for all of the extraordinary support that you extend for all students throughout the school year.

      Respectfully,

      Dr. Bass,

From the Principal

  • It is an honor to be a member of this outstanding school community. Linwood Monroe Arts Plus (LMAP) celebrates a rich history of arts-infused education for all learners.

As a long-time educator I have extensive experience in leading schools that embrace the arts. This experience has driven my belief in the power of the arts to transform educational outcomes for all students.

Most recently, I have served as principal of Crosswinds East Metro Arts and Science School in the East Metro Integration District. I have also served as principal of Brooklyn Center Junior/Senior High School, where I was a part of a leadership team that created an arts magnet program. This program twice won Magnet School of Excellence Awards from Magnet Schools of America.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts from St. Olaf College, a Master of Arts from Saint Mary’s University, and an Education Specialist degree and licensure from the University of Saint Thomas. I recently completed my dissertation for a Doctororate of Education degree at St. Cloud State University on September 19, 2017.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife Katherine and our two daughters, competing in events and races such as marathons and triathlons, and listening to live music.

I am grateful to be serving the LMAP school community.

    Respectfully,

    Bryan E. Bass, Ed.D.
