Adult Driver Education


    Adults 18 years and older are not required by the State of Minnesota to take a Driver Education course before testing for their instruction permit. Find a DVS testing location.

    Adults who are 18 years old must have their instruction permit for at least 6 months before taking the license test.  Adults who are 19 years old or older must have their instruction permit for at least 3 months before taking their license test.  Learn more.


    Adult Driver Education Class

    This 2-hour class is for people 18 years and older who need a comprehensive overview of the rules and regulations that are necessary to obtain a permit.  You will discuss identification requirements, study tips, and the licensing process and will be better prepared to take the permit test.     Getting to Know Your Car

    $30; Course #2540

    Whether you are a new or experienced driver, learn the basics of car maintenance and what is under the hood.  Topics include checking and replacing vehicle fluids, checking tire tread depth and pressure, how to change a tire, how to jump start a car, and more.  A portion of this class will be outside; dress for the weather.  Click here for available classes and to register.
