Parkway Middle School Playfield

  • Parkway Montessori and Community Middle School is getting a new play field that will replace the current field that is in need of repairs and updates. The field is located on the corner of Etna St. and Reaney Ave.; see maps below.

A new flexible-use softball/baseball field will be constructed and the soccer field replaced. The playground will be permanently removed to better align the use of the field to middle school programming needs. Some benches for players will be provided, but no bleachers or ball field lights will be installed.

The new field is being constructed as part of a coordinated effort with the Metropolitan Council’s (MetCouncil) city-wide sewer rehabilitation program to repair and update Saint Paul’s sewer system. The project will take approximately two years to complete (see timeline details below) with the area fenced off for safety.

As the project progresses, Parkway’s bus and traffic flow (student drop off/pick up) may need to be adjusted to accommodate the sewer replacement work and installation of the new field; details will be shared as they become available.

To find alternate play areas during construction, visit Saint Paul Parks and Recreation’s activity finder and enter your address to find nearby options.
