The benefits of a good night’s sleep go far beyond feeling well rested. Sleep is essential for health! During sleep your body recovers from the wear and tear of daily life. Many important body functions, such as tissue repair and muscle growth, can only happen while you sleep. Getting enough sleep:
- Helps you learn
- Strengthens your memory
- Improves your mood
- Boosts your creativity
- Supports your immune system
- Reduces stress levels
- Increases your energy levels
- Lowers your risk for both diabetes and heart disease
Most adults need between 7-8 hours of sleep per night, but many of us regularly fall short.
Learn how to get enough good quality sleep with the SPPS More ZZZs Please! Challenge.
Each week you’ll get a short newsletter with information and suggestions for improving your sleep. You’ll track your sleep daily, and at the end of the challenge you’ll be given a survey to complete. Your tracker is for your personal use, you won’t be expected to turn these in.
More ZZZs Please! runs from Monday June 10 through Monday July 8. You need to sign up by the end of the day on Friday June 7.
