Ms. Samantha Olson

Hello! Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year!

My name is Samantha Olson. I was born and raised on the East Side of St Paul and graduated from Johnson Senior High in 2012. I am a product of the SPPS District. (Fun Fact: I went to Battle Creek for middle school!) I graduated from the University of North Dakota in 2017 with my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in Middle Level Education. Science is my passion and I hope to pass that onto my students!

During this school year, I will be teaching Physical Science 6 and Astronomy. Please see the below sections for more info.

Some fun facts about me: I love to travel, I have one older sister, and I love being outside! I'm also an avid tea drinker and I love chocolate! Food is the way to my heart :)

If you need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out and contact me! Email is the best way to reach me and I will try to respond to you within 24 hours. I am so excited to collaborate with you this year! It's going to be a fun one!

Astronomy

  • Astronomy is an elective class at Battle Creek! This means it is not a required class, and students get to choose if they want to take the class.

If your student is taking Astronomy, they should have the following items: a composition notebook (not spiral!), a pencil, and 10 glue sticks. We will be creating interactive notebooks to help with studying and encourange collaboration.

The following picture is a general overview of what will be taught in Astronomy. If you have questions about or are concerned about anything that will be taught, please don't hesitate to email me.
