Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Nick Windsor
Hi! 2019 marks my first year at Battle Creek Middle School. I am excited and proud to be here! This marks my second full year of teaching, and I am confident it will be a great one.
Originally I am from Washington State where I grew up and went to college. Marriage brought me out to the state of Minnesota, and I am gradually growing to enjoy living here more and more. I studied a pre-med track, but quickly reconsidered when it came time to write personal statements to graduate school. From my tutoring experience in middle and high school classrooms, I knew that I truly enjoyed the unique energy of young adults and the relationships that can be built with them. I also knew from my coursework how important a science education is for all students. I went on to study a broader range of sciences in my undergraduate and went through the Masters in Teaching program at WSUV.
I am passionate about teaching all science, but specifically Earth Science because of how impressive the Earth is in supporting all the aspects of human life. It is also a study to preserve and appreciate all that is wonderful about this planet. Sustainability, I believe, is not only a study of science and engineering, but also one of humanity and justice. For that which is unjust cannot be sustainable.
Learning has no borders, and ideally should extend out into our communities. If there is any way that you would like to contribute to the work that we are doing without our classroom, I welcome it. Contact me-- I would love to hear from you!
