Four-Year Graduation Rate Trend

  • Saint Paul Public Schools Overall Graduation Rate in 2021

On March 30, 2022, the Minnesota Department of Education released the class of 2021’s graduation rate. In SPPS, 76% of the class of 2021 graduated in four years; down 2 percentage points from 2020 (78%). Across student groups the graduation rate change varied widely with bi-racial/multiracial students graduating at higher rates than 2020 (up to 75% from 67%), to students receiving special education services graduating at lower rates than 2020 (down to 49% from 56%). The decrease in the percentage of students graduating in 4 years coupled with the increase in the percentage of students continuing their education is likely a factor of the pandemic; the class of 2021 went into distance learning during their junior year and resumed in-person learning the latter part of their senior year.
