Ms. Emily Spofford
Hi Farnsworth Students and Families,
This is my second year at Farnsworth and I absolutely love being a part of this strong community! This year, I will primarily be working with Kindergarten, 1st and 4th grade students, but am available to connect with all students when needed.
I graduated from University of Minnesota - Morris with a bachelor's degree in psychology and human services and received my master's degree in counseling from University of Wisconsin - River Falls. I am passionate about mental health and helping students with their academic, social/emotional, and life/career aspirations. As a school counselor, I aspire to make a holistic difference by building positive relationships, fostering opportunities for growth, and meeting all students where they are at. In my spare time I love to travel, play and sing music, and spend time outdoors.
I am thrilled to get to know you all and continue to build relationships with families. Please reach out if you have any questions.
MISSION AND VISION:
Vision: As Farnsworth Aerospace PreK-4 students graduate from high school, they will feel valued, respected, and celebrated for the diversity of talents, gifts, backgrounds, and cultures they bring to the community; will be collaborative and curious critical thinkers; and will have the skills they need to thrive in the 21st century and a plan for their future postsecondary and career paths.
Mission: The Farnsworth Aerospace PreK-4 School Counseling Program will support the academic, social/emotional, and college/career development of students through comprehensive, data-driven, and culturally relevant services that promote equity, access, and success for all students, in order for them to grow to be lifelong learners and productive citizens.
