STEPS provides various opportunities for families with young children to think about, talk about, gather resources for, and prepare for the transitions they will experience. The Growing into Kindergarten event is one of those opportunities.
Offered in the fall and the spring, Growing into Kindergarten is designed for children who will begin kindergarten the following September, and their whole family.
Learning activities, games and entertainment provide connections to the upcoming changes families can anticipate as they approach kindergarten, in the different ways that children and adults experience them. Resources and tools are designed for adult caregivers and family members, to support them as they guide their families through big changes and new experiences.
Community partners are a big part of Growing into Kindergarten. They are there to make sure families can access information and resources on-site during the event, that they know how to access support beyond the day of the event, and that they feel connected to the organizations and individuals in their community!
Community partners at the spring event will include:
Hmong, Karen, Somali and Spanish interpreters will be available at the event.
