Hello Families and Students!
Welcome to Bruce F. Vento Elementary School!  My name is Nathan Bautista and I am so happy to be your child’s Pre-Kindergarten teacher!  The 2023-2024 school year will be my third year of teaching.  I have been in education for over 8 years (I started in MN Reading Corps-->Teacher's Assistant-->Long Term Substitute Teacher-->Teacher)!  Before teaching and working in education, I was a manager for a major retail store.  I was getting burnt out and my husband recognized that I work well with children.  I have always wanted to be a teacher, ever since I was a child.  So, I started the process to become one in 2018 by enrolling back into college.

To start off, I want to tell you a little bit about myself both personally and professionally.  I grew up in South Dakota.  I have been living in Minnesota since 2012.  I am a recent graduate from Metropolitan State University located right here in St. Paul.  I majored in Urban Early Childhood Education: Birth to Grade 3 Licensure.  I enjoy spending time with my husband, Ezequiel, and our pug, Fernando!  In our spare time, we love to walk the lakes of the twin cities, watch movies, try new restaurants, spend time at our family cabin, and spend time with our dog.  I also love fashion, singing, roller blading, and reading.  My husband is also a teacher and has opened his own Montessori home preschool!

I believe in having an inclusive environment where all children are included in learning and play!  All are welcome in my classroom!  I encourage my students to be young independent human beings.  I am also a firm believer in Positive Behavior Guidance.  In our classroom, our students create a small community to help each other out and lift each other up!  I am so excited about teaching at Bruce F.
