The Personalized Learning Team supports teachers as they create learning opportunities that allow students to pursue relevant interests. Students are able to control the pace and path of learning through lessons that give them choices about accessing materials.
The Personalized Learning Team prioritizes technology tools that assist students and help them understand material while also building critical thinking skills.
Our ultimate goal is to engage students so they become independent, life-long learners.
Student and Family iPad Handbook and Technology Use Agreement
The Student and Family iPad Handbook (pdf) is a guide for families and students about iPad care and responsibilities.
Students and their families have the option to review the handbook and iPad orientation materials online at One Stop, Campus iUpdate. All students and parents are requested to sign the Technology Use Agreement. Signing the agreement is required in order to take an iPad home.
Digital Citizenship at Home
In a 1:1 environment, it is critical that we build knowledge and skills about responsible technology use. Required Digital Citizenship lessons help teachers deliver important content and build skills for students as they practice safe and appropriate behaviors. Resources from Common Sense Media help continue this work throughout the year and at home.
iPads at Home
Saint Paul Public Schools provides a technology-rich environment that allows us to personalize instruction through a 1:1 iPad program that provides each student with an iPad that they can access at school and at home. Learn more about iPad use at home here.
Coding in SPPS
St Paul Schools offers coding workshops and courses at elementary and secondary levels. We also offer district wide online courses at the secondary level.
Genius Squads in SPPS
Secondary level students assist with technology integration as well as build their own knowledge and skills with technology. Students work at their school help desk, take courses and provide support for professional development. Some elementary schools have Genius Squads available for upper elementary students as well.
